Splash (vacation part 4)

The first two days of the vacation proved to be our best weather days.  The sun was out but it wasn’t scorching hot.  There were some waves for the kids to ride, but they weren’t huge which meant Mac wasn’t scared.  We generally spent the morning on the beach and would then swim in the pool and ride around the lazy river before going up for lunch.  Coe crashed to sleep right after lunch every day and even Mac took a nap 3 of the 4 days.  Playing in the sand, jumping the waves and swimming in the pool wore the boys out!  We went back to the beach and pool in the late afternoon and would hang out until time to get cleaned up for dinner.

Monday the weather was rough, but we managed to get our family photo shoot completed first thing that morning and still made it to the beach and pool after lunch.  We had an early dinner that night and then the girls all headed to Pier Park to do a little shopping.  Madeline has the Homecoming dance coming up at her high school so we went shopping for a dress.  As the mom of two boys I probably won’t get to shop for teenage girl dresses often so I was glad to be invited along for the trip.  We didn’t find “the perfect dress” but Madeline looked gorgeous in everything she put on. I know I’m biased but I really think I have the 3 prettiest nieces ever!

We ate in most nights but did go to a place called Boon Docks one night.  It was on the water and the food was great.  It was nice to get out of the condo and not have a mess to clean up.  The cousins all seemed happy to be eating out as well.      IMG_1917 Here are some more pictures from our time at the beach, pool and splash pad area.   IMG_3716 IMG_3718 IMG_3721 IMG_3722 IMG_3724 IMG_3728 IMG_3730

Fun in the lazy river. IMG_3735 IMG_3738 IMG_3741

Coe cracked me up in the lazy river.  There are jets at the bottom to make everyone float around the “river.”  Coe would get in the jet stream and fly forward.  He would kick his legs as fast as he could and you could tell he thought he was swimming super fast.  He had the biggest grin on his face each time he would get in the jet stream!  IMG_3747We went to the splash pad area which was small but the boys still enjoyed it.  Coe was amazed with the water coming out of the ground, and Mac enjoyed climbing on the two giant animals.  IMG_3761IMG_3752IMG_3759IMG_3754 IMG_3755   IMG_3767 IMG_3771 IMG_3774 IMG_3778

This turned out to be a good way to get all the sand off the boys before heading in to the condo and the boys didn’t seem to mind it a bit!
