A new dog

Last Friday we were supposed to celebrate Christmas at Yaya’s house, but she called early that morning to say she had the stomach virus :(  In order to minimize the disappointment, I let the boys go ahead and open their gifts to each other.

We have had Duke for several years, and Mac loves him.  In the past few months Copeland has grown very attached to him too, so I decided Mac decided Copeland needed a dog for Christmas.  With a little input from me, Mac picked out the perfect dog to give Copeland…

Of course Copeland had to give his big brother a present too, so Copey gave Mac a really cool outside toy that they can play with together.  IMG_5909 IMG_5910A week after the bulldog joined the family, he still has no name!  Every time we ask Coe what the dogs name is he says, “Coe.”  Maybe we will call him Junior.  No matter what we call him, he is a hit.  Duke needed a friend and daddy and I are very happy with these dogs that are quiet, don’t shed and require no food or water.  Duke and Junior are the perfect pets for this family!  IMG_5918

The boys even took their dogs with us to Birmingham.  The boys (and their dogs) watched the Mac and Coe 2012 show most of the drive.  Christmas was off to a great start!

Raymon family Christmas

Since we are spending Christmas in Birmingham this year, we planned to celebrate with the Pensacola family before we left town.  First on the list of festivities was the Raymon family Christmas.  Biba, Glyn and Sydney came over form Niceville and of course Papou and Gigi came with way too many presents!  Mac got an AL basketball net from Biba, and although he was frustrated he couldn’t make every basket, we quickly heard him say, “practice makes perfect!”  Image Image 2 Image 3 Image 4 Image 6 Image 7 IMG_5825 IMG_5830 IMG_5833 IMG_5838 IMG_5841 IMG_5840IMG_5846 IMG_5853 IMG_5857

We also celebrated Papou’s birthday!IMG_5861 IMG_5870 IMG_5874 IMG_5875 IMG_5880 IMG_5884

Mom came over at the beginning of the night because she, Coste, Gigi and Papou gave Mac and Copeland a new table and chairs for their playroom.  Mac loved the blue chairs and his new high table.  Those of you who know Mac know how much he loves to organize animal scenes on a table.  He was truly thrilled to get this very practical gift and of course mommy was happy too!  Copeland is excited to finally be included in the table play – just as long as he doesn’t knock down the animals!

Its beginning to look (and smell) a lot like Christmas

Living in a house full of boys I better get used to doing my wrapping and Christmas baking by myself!  One Saturday I decided to do some baking for the neighbors and teachers.  Albi and I gave Mac the choice of staying home with me and helping cook or going with daddy.  At first he chose me (yay!), but then daddy mentioned that he was going to play golf and I quickly got ditched!  Oh well, it wasn’t the first or the last time that one of my boys chose golf over me.

Coe napped while I baked, but he woke up in time to be my taste tester.  I heard lots of yum yums!

One of my sorority sisters sent me this great Houndstooth ribbon that she found in Texas!IMG_5813

I LOVE Christmas cards.  December is the only time of year that I get my mail every day.  These were just the beginning of the card display.  IMG_5782IMG_5785IMG_5927 IMG_5930 IMG_5933 IMG_5939

Random

I have been throwing pictures and story reminders in a folder for a few weeks now.  I’m combining them all into this one blog post.

Text I sent Forrest

Mac: Mommy and daddy will you please stop the car?

Us: Why?

Mac: Because I need to take something off…my sweater.  It’s itchy and hot.  I need it off now.  Please.

(I think Mac is your (Forrest’s) child.  This sounds just like you.

Forrest’s response: Pull the car over immediately.  I know his pain.

Me: Albi keeps asking if he can make it 5 more minutes until we get home and he keeps saying no!  Our little drama King!

Coe often puts his B on his head especially when he is tired.  I found him like this one day.  He wouldn’t dare willingly put the iPad down to take a nap.  IMG_2506

Friends over for the SEC Championship game.  Thankfully AL pulled off the win in the last seconds of the game.

Coloring is a new favorite activity at our house.  Coe LOVES markers.  I have quickly discovered the washable vs non-washable.IMG_5522 IMG_5524IMG_5526
