It is hard work getting ready for vacation but so worth it when we finally get there. This vacation was no different. Long hours at work trying to get everything finished before several days out of the office, late night packing all the stuff we need for 5 days away from home and lots of coordinating between families, school, nannies, etc. but all worth it when we woke up to this on Saturday morning.
We went on vacation with Albi’s family. We opted for two condos instead of one house and it worked well. Deeda plays golf every morning at the crack of dawn whenever we go on a beach trip and this year was no different. On the first morning he left at 5:30am to get coffee, breakfast and then tee off. Mac heard the door close and was immediately awake! We made him stay in bed until 6 but after that it was pointless, so he and I went to explore the surroundings. He couldn’t go without his balloon hat we got at dinner the night before!
We were disappointed to learn downright mad that the “water park” area at the condos had a pump malfunction and would be closed for a month. This was the only reason we chose to stay at Splash, but we looked at the positive and quickly remembered that we still had the beach, a lazy river and a regular pool to swim in.
The boys did surprisingly well on the beach this trip. Mac enjoyed playing paddle ball and jumping the waves with G, Madeline and Mallory. He was good about wearing his goggles, a hat and using the inner tube to “ride the waves” which kept me happy. Coe got in the water some but preferring throwing a ball and rolling his cars through the sand.
Coe could always fine someone with food on the beach. He was especially fond of Deeda the entire trip as Deeda seemed to always have cheetos nearby!
Madeline worked on her tan – she was in a contest with a friend to see who could get the best tan on vacation! While Mallory rode the waves! The first morning left all the boys tired and in need of a mid day nap!
After naps we headed back to the beach for an afternoon very similar to the morning. No complaints from anyone about another great day at the beach!
Coe used the paddle ball like a golf club and was very happy with how easy it was for him to make contact with the ball despite the balls not going very far when he hit them!I took a million pictures on the trip and there is no way to include them all (much less write captions) without boring everyone to death. Therefore I’ll break the vacation pics down into a few posts and will try to narrow down to my favorite pictures. Hope you enjoy looking at all the pictures. We sure did have fun living them!
