A few weekends ago the Blue Angels hometown Pensacola crowd geared up for what was sure to be another thrilling air show. They always do a practice show on Thurs and Friday and the real show on Saturday. Due to the high popularity for Saturday’s show and the limited number of parking places, you have to head to the beach (via boat or car) at a ridiculously early hour to make the 2pm Saturday show. We therefore go to the practice show on Friday (which is essentially identical to the Sat show) and Papou and Gigi reserve us a parking spot at their condo. Its a great deal! We watch the show from their balcony with the added convenience of a bathroom and air conditioner while we wait for the planes to arrive. This year was Finley’s first time to see the Blues and I’d say by the expression I caught when they first showed up, she was impressed!
If you are wondering where Albi is in all the pictures, he was at Pebble Beach in California on a guys golf trip. As great as the Blues were, I’m kind of thinking he got the better deal this time around :)
