I snapped these pictures the first morning we were home from the ski trip. Both boys snuggled in bed with us and put on their new t-shirts from Vail. I think they were very excited we were home!
The first day the boys came home after my surgery, Mac got to spend quiet time in bed with mommy. I was so happy to see him after two days away.
Albi had a lot of talks with the boys after we got home from Colorado about being big helpers while Mommy’s leg was hurt. Three weeks later I can say they both really stepped it up – Mac especially. Mac has carried more glasses of water and cups of coffee for me than I ever imagined possible. He has been the best helper, and in all honesty, Albi and I were both very surprised. Then again I don’t know why. If you give Mac a challenge he generally beats it. This challenge was no different.
Every morning Copeland asks me, “Leg better, mommy?” The first few nights after the surgery when Coe and I would say prayers I would add at the end a request that God help heal my leg. The first night when I said Amen and didn’t mention the leg, Copeland quickly said, “mommy make leg better.” I quickly asked God to heal my leg quickly and then Coe was willing to say Amen!
If I have learned anything during this journey so far, it is that I have the best boys ever – all three of them. Good thing since the Dr told me today that I have at least 4 more weeks on crutches with no weigh bearing…ugh!
Sometimes being a big helper will wear you out!
