Georgia Aquarium

This past weekend we headed to Atlanta for my cousin, Emily’s wedding.  The wedding was on Sunday afternoon, so we decided to take advantage of a free Saturday in Atlanta by taking the kids to the aquarium.  Yaya, Aunt Forrest, Uncle Ed and Fin Fin came with us.  Thank goodness!  It turns out we needed all the help we could get keeping up with the boys in the large crowds.  Since I’m still on crutches, I had to get a wheelchair which meant not only was I no help with the kids, but I also required help from one of the adults in the group to maneuver the wheelchair.  Copeland sat in my lap some but definitely preferred running off at any chance he could find.

AS soon as we got to the aquarium, we headed to the Dolphin show which was amazing.  Mac LOVED it, but Copeland wasn’t so sure.  At one point it gets very loud and dark.  As soon as that part ended Coe looked up at me with his lip quivering and said he was scared.  He cried for the next few minutes but finally calmed down and enjoyed the rest of the show while snuggled in mommy’s lap.  IMG_7210 IMG_7214 IMG_7217  IMG_7222 IMG_7227 IMG_7235 IMG_7241 IMG_7248 IMG_7252 IMG_7254 IMG_7270

IMG_7284Mac convinced Aunt For to crawl through the penguin tunnels with them.  As soon as they popped up in the viewing area, several penguins started walking toward them.  Forrest told Mac it was because they liked his red hair.  He talked about that for the next two days.  He was convinced that all the penguins love red hair and wanted to come and check him out.  He never lacks in confidence!IMG_7295 IMG_7300

We all had a good time at the aquarium but the crowds were massive.  I guess a very cold and rainy Saturday during spring break was not the best day to spend at the GA Aquarium if you don’t want a crowd, but it was our only option and we are all glad we took advantage of the opportunity. Not surprising to anyone, Mac enjoyed the aquarium the most and wants to go back to the dolphin show asap!
