This weekend was all about rediscovering old toys and playing with them like they were brand new. After Mac was forced to spend his quiet time on Thursday in his room instead in front of the tv, he rediscovered the barn Papou and Gigi gave him for his birthday. He asked on Saturday if we could take the barn outside along with all the farm animals. I thought this was a great idea as it was another beautiful weekend, and we all needed the fresh air. Mac played with the barn and his animals for hours, and he didn’t even pitch a fit when the 2 yr old monster got in the barn! It was such a great set-up that we have decided to keep the barn on the covered porch for awhile along with the farm/construction equipment and all the farm animals.
When we took the barn off the top of the trunk in Mac’s room, the boys found some old cars and trucks that I had hidden away at some point when I decided we had entirely too many “wheeled vehicles” in the playroom. The boys loved playing with these on the porch and with plenty of storage places outside these cars and trucks won’t go back into hiding any time soon.
*Please ignore the boys attire in all of these pictures. Coe didn’t want to take his pjs off and really wanted to wear his boots. Mac informed me that he wasn’t wearing his Alabama shirt until AL was playing football (7pm kickoff) because he didn’t want to get his shirt dirty. He insisted upon wearing the tie dye shirt first followed by his angry bird t-shirt. Since I won’t let him wear either of the shirts to school I figured getting them dirty on a Saturday was a good idea. Mac got so dirty at one point (very rare for him) that he decided to change his shirt hence the wardrobe switch.
