Its been over 3 weeks since I have done a blog post. does that tell you how busy I have been? The big event in the past 3 weeks was our trip to DISNEY! Of course I took a million photos and culling through and editing has taken up the bulk of my time allotted to blogging {that time slot grows smaller by the day as the Gilmer boys schedule gets busier and busier. I mean baseball 4 days a week at 6! Really?!?! That is a blog post for another day though!} Back to Disney. It was a great trip and the best part of it was that Yaya, Aunt Forrest, Uncle Ed and Finley went with us. I’m going to break the trip into several posts, but I’ll admit I spent weeks planning our itinerary for each day. Despite getting “off schedule” pretty much every day before we even left the hotel, we managed to accomplish a lot on what turned out to be a very busy holiday weekend at Disney.
Charles came to see us off. He couldn’t join us on this trip, but was happy to pass Yaya off for the week :) With Magic Bands on, we got in the car and headed to the land “where dreams really do come true”!
We checked in at the Polynesian, grabbed a bite to eat and were roasting marshmallows at the bonfire on the beach within an hour of arriving. Forrest, Ed and Finley opted to fly since Finley isn’t the best car rider. After a few delays in Pensacola, they met up with us around bedtime. I think Finley was more excited to “snuggle” in the bed with Mac and Coe each night than she was to meet any Disney character! Everyone finally went to bed with great anticipation {and a little bit of stress} about the itinerary for the next day. Wait…maybe that was just me. The adults went to bed bone tired from a day of traveling, and the kids finally crashed to sleep after we threatened to get back in the car and drive home if one more person said a word. And so the family vacation began…
