Mac’s leopard, Petter, was originally “born” at the Animal Kingdom when we found him on our first family Disney trip three years ago. Mac has lovingly slept with him most nights since that trip and was adamant that he come back to Disney with us this time, so he could “see his family”. Although I insisted that Petter stay in the room while we were at the parks {with the exception of the day we went to Animal Kingdom}, Mac made sure Petter still had a great time in his “hometown”.
After grabbing a quick bite to eat at the hotel, and some massive ice cream cones that Uncle Ed found for the kids, we headed back to Magic Kingdom for the parade. It was quite chilly that night and Daddy and Uncle Ed were more than happy to hold our parade watching spot while we took the kids to ride Dumbo. Yaya bought them all a light up sword, and they had a blast battling while we waited for the parade to start. Eventually it got crowded enough that the swords were becoming a safety hazard, so we did what every good 21st century parent does when they need to calm down rowdy kids…we handed them an electronic device :) Eventually the parade started and everyone was mesmerized. We got back to the hotel just before 10pm and were able to catch the MK fireworks show from the warmth of the concierge lounge at the hotel. It was a successful first day at Disney!
