We celebrated Father’s Day twice this year. Once on the real day with Albi and Coste and then the next weekend with Papou. For Father’s Day Albi wanted to go to the beach. It turned out to be a great day despite my initial concerns that the water was too rough. There wasn’t much of an undertow but the waves were big enough to easily knock the boys down {matter of fact an older woman next to us got knocked down and popped her knee out of joint but that is a story for another day. Let’s just say daddy to the rescue again!} We ended up carrying the boys out past the break point and then we all enjoyed jumping and floating over the waves.
We grabbed popsicles from our new favorite popsicle place on the way home and then had a cook out at our house with mom, Coste, Forrest, Ed and Finley. The whole family cookout was unplanned. Mom and Charles had been in Dallas all weekend and had said they would stop by when their flight landed but we didn’t expect Forrest and Ed, who had been in BHM, to come over. They got home earlier than they planned though so we invited them over for an impromptu Father’s Day cookout!
The next weekend we went to Papou and Gigi’s to swim and have lunch. The kids all enjoyed showing off their swimming skills and playing with Gigi in the pool. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in our family!
