After waiting for over 3 weeks, we finally got grass on Saturday. I thought Copeland might be disappointed to lose his beloved dirt pile, but he wasn’t. I think that he thinks we now live on the golf course! On Sunday night we were all outside eating dinner and Copeland moved to the other bench and put his back to the rest of us and said, “I just need to sit here and wuk (look) at this gwass (grass)!”

Playtime at home
We had to spend a lot of time playing inside while we waited on our new grass to be delivered. Mac lines everything up when he plays – animals, imaginext, superheroes, etc. I’m not sure who he gets his OCD tendencies from :)
Copeland on the other hand operates under the motto of bigger mess = bigger fun! Although he is playing with Mac’s imaginext toys in these pictures, his favorite activity of all time is playing cars. I swear he spends hours racing matchbox cars. His favorites are the Cars cars. I constantly hear him whispering “I am speed (vroom vroom)” then he runs by with Lightening McQueen in his hand.
I feel like I say this all the time, but I love this stage in our lives. Yes the boys fight. Copeland doesn’t understand sharing and Mac doesn’t want to share, but I wouldn’t trade a minute of it…well maybe some minutes, but not many!

Butterflies
The caterpillars the Easter Bunny brought broke out of their chrysalis last week and had turned into butterflies. Mac and I went in his room to get his clothes for school and there were 5 butterflies sitting in the butterfly garden. Mac literally screamed and then looked up to the heavens and said “Thank you Easter bunny. Thank you so much!” When we first saw the butterflies they were not yet flying around, but by the time school was out they were quite active. Mac watched them intently for two days. He fed them watermelon and orange slices (as the directions suggested) and then on day two we set them free. The butterflies must have loved their butterfly garden in Mac’s room because they were not very anxious to fly away when we took them outside. I’m not sure if it was the cool air, the strong breeze or the 4yr old hand that kept reaching in their home that scared them the most! WE finally decided to leave their home unzipped and on the front porch so they could fly away when they were ready. Apparently Miss Katie and Coe had to give them a little help a few hours later. Coe was fascinated, but like many things recently he announced “that butterfly scares me!” I hope the Easter bunny brings more caterpillars next year.
Farm to Fairway
Last Sunday Albi and I went to the Farm to Fairways event at PCC with a bunch of our friends. It was WONDERFUL! They prepared a 5 course meal with food from the local farmer’s market and had a wine pairing for each course. The food and wine were delicious, but it was all the little details that made the night one to remember. The evening started with a specialty cocktail served in mason jars and gave everyone an opportunity to mingle before we sat down for dinner. The long curved tables were set on the 18th fairway with the bay as the backdrop and fresh flowers and veggies as the centerpieces. The slight breeze kept everyone comfortable while a duet played music to set the mood.
The kids had their own farms to fairway event upstairs in the club house. Mac got to play with his friends, plant a bean, do an art project, and eat dinner and watch a movie with all his friends. He had a blast, and so did we! I think PCC may finally be on the right track with their event planning thanks to a lot of input and hard work from many many people. This was by far the best event we have ever attended at the club, and I’m looking forward to many more in the future.
*Majority of the pictures are from Deanie Sexton photography. The Club hired her to photograph the evening, and I am using a few here that she posted on facebook after the event.

Spring Program
Mac’s spring program was a few weeks ago and he did a great job. He really takes the performances seriously. He knew all the hand motions and the words to every song. My pictures aren’t that great because I wasn’t early enough to get a front row seat (who knew 20min early to the preschool program was 5th row viewing!). Mac was very excited to see his fan base all waiving to him – mommy, Yaya, Papou and Gigi. Papou and Gigi got to stay a few minutes after the program for pictures in his classroom.
After the program, Mac got to come to the office with mommy for about an hour. He couldn’t wait to see Mr. Levin! I was surprised at how well he behaved. Apparently iPads really do provide babysitting services and I was able to get some work done while we both waited on Ms. Katie.
