My last day of Spring Break was Easter Sunday (the boys had the next day off as well which they needed for rest time!). I love Easter, but I honestly think that is one of the most stressful mornings. I got up extra early to shower before the kids woke up, yet we were still running late for church. I hate to rush the kids as they look through their Easter baskets, and I don’t want to throw a cereal bar at them as we run out the door, but if you don’t get to our church early on Easter you will never find a seat. I had to ask God for forgiveness as soon as we crammed in our seats {with Coe on my lap} as I was already ticked off that so many people who never come to church show up on Easter and take all the seats. Admittedly that is a horrible attitude to have hence my immediate prayers for forgiveness!
Anyway, the boys loved everything the Easter bunny brought them and despite the enormous amount of candy he left for them, they didn’t ask to eat much of it. Mac in particular likes the idea of candy more than the consumption. Coe is a different story, but he was so happy to play with his new Power Ranger Samarizer {which is no longer in production at the Easter Bunny’s shop nor any other shop in the world unless you want to pay a 300% markup rate. Thankfully the Easter Bunny found a friend on eBay to help him get a slightly used version. That Easter Bunny must be a genius!} that he forgot about the candy.
Daddy went to church a few minutes early and saved us seats. The boys and I arrived only 4 minutes late which I considered a success! After trying to snap a few pictures on the church lawn after the service we went to the Yacht Club to meet the rest of the family for brunch. PYC had a huge Easter egg hunt, and the kids once again racked up on candy. After all the excitement of the morning and the whole week preceding it, my three boys went home to rest while I headed to the office to get caught up after several days off. I’d consider it a very successful SB 2015 with the perfect Easter ending.
