Two young kids + two full time jobs does not equal much adult only time, but somehow Albi and I managed to go on 3 adult only trips in 4 months! We don’t like to travel much with out the boys or leave them on the weekends which is our only extended time with them most weeks, but opportunities arose that we couldn’t pass up. In June we went to Vail for a conference Albi had at work. It was the first time I have gone to a conference as the spouse and it was great! I slept in, worked out and went on walks to enjoy to humidity free cool Colorado air. Albi finished early on the last day so we rode the gondola to the top of the mountain and did a zip line excursion. We kept saying how much the boys would love Colorado in the summer, and we definitely want to take them next time!
In August we went to a wedding in Boston. It was another great weekend with some new friends. Again we traded the hot humid Pensacola weather for much cooler temperatures. On top of all the wedding festivities, Albi and I did a walking tour of Boston. Anything to be outside and see the sites.
Last but not least, we headed to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs. Florida game with Brett and Maria a few weekends ago. We saw several friends and cheered the Tide on to a victory, but again I kept thinking that I couldn’t wait to bring the boys back for a game.
Albi and I enjoyed the adult vacas and are now getting ready for back to back weekends out of town with the kids – Blue Lake church retreat and then beach weekend with Yaya and Coste!
